Description

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B combines two functions in a single dressing: the exudate management of a highly absorbent foam dressing with a silicone adhesive border and the bacteria-binding effect of Sorbact technology.

The mechanism of action is purely physical and does not rely on antimicrobial agents. Bacteria such as MRSA and VRE, as well as fungi, naturally bind to the DACC-coated surface, where they are irreversibly trapped and their growth is inhibited. With each dressing change, the bacterial count in the wound decreases. Because no bacteria are killed, no additional endotoxins are released that could delay healing.
