What pH value is right for the pool?

A pH value between 7.0 and 7.4 is usually used as a guideline. If the value is too high, lower it with BAYROL pH-Minus. You can check the current value, for example, with test strips such as the BAYROL Quicktest.

What is the difference between chlorine tablets and chlorine granules?

Slowly dissolving chlorine tablets such as BAYROL Chlorilong release chlorine over a longer period of time and are used for permanent disinfection. Quickly dissolving granules such as Chlorifix are intended for impact treatment. Never mix different chlorine products together.

Are there alternatives to chlorine?

Yes, for example bromine tablets like BAYROL Aquabrome or active oxygen like Bayrosoft. There is also the SpaTime series for whirlpools. Always follow the manufacturer’s dosage instructions.

What helps against algae and cloudy water?

There are algaecides such as BAYROL Desalgin against algae. If the water is cloudy, flocculants and clarifying agents such as Superflock Plus for sand filters or Superklar can help. Additionally check pH value and disinfection.
