Application notes

Before all invasive interventions

Use Kodan® undiluted
Spray the relevant skin area or apply it with a soaked swab, ensure complete wetting of the skin and observe the exposure times
Record excess preparation to avoid puddle formation

With preoperative skin anticlaps

Shorten the hair on the affected skin area mechanically or chemically remove
In order to avoid blurring skin markings, only use skin marking pencils with sufficient alcohol resistance.

Areas of application

Skin disinfection before surgical interventions, catheterization, blood and liquor withdrawals, injections, punctures, excisions, cannulas, biopsies, etc., for seam care, as well as to support general hygienic measures in the prevention of skin fungal diseases. If there is no special hand disinfectant, Kodan® Tincture Forte Colorless can also be used for hygienic hand disinfection.

Contradictions

Do not use for surgical hand disinfection. Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or one of the other components.

Side effects

Skin irritations such as reddening, burning and drought can occur particularly with frequent use. In rare cases, contact allergic reactions are possible. Stand 04/20

Warnings

For external application. Do not bring in contact with open flames or switched on electrical heating sources. Let Kodan® tincture dry fore forte before creating associations. Only attach the thermal bodter when the Forte colorless disinfected skin areas have dried out with Kodan® tincture. With accidental eye contact with Kodan® tincture forte colorless, rinse with lots of water for several minutes when the eyelid is opened. Due to the high alcohol content, Kodan® Tincture Forte Coloring should not be used in premature babies and newborns with unripe skin (e.g. restricted barrier function of the skin). *Tested against test virus BVDV (surrogate viruses for hepatitis-C virus) and vaccinia virus. According to the current state of knowledge, the results allow the conclusions to be drawn about the effectiveness against other envied viruses, e.g. hepatitis B virus, HI virus.
